The first episode of Game Exchange. Not the greatest in production value, but we all gotta’ start somewhere. …And I start with talking about Japan’s deviant gaming culture and how it isn’t so unlike ours.

Loved the episode! Indeed, perspective is something most of us lack nowadays… being European (Portuguese, to be specific) I have the advantage of being able to look at both Japanese and American culture from an outside viewpoint (although by now Europe is pretty much Americanized…) and I think it is for the best that cultures are actually pretty different. Without American culture we wouldn’t have games like Doom or Grand Theft Auto, and without Japan we wouldn’t have, say, the JRPG’s or some of the most freaky and exquisite (at least for us, non-Japanese) horror games. It’s really for the best that we are different, we just have to understand and accept our differences.
